Funeral services for Gary Scott Ingle, 63, of Bainbridge, Ga., will be held Monday, June 29, at 2 p.m. at Port City Church of God with the Rev. Mylan Brookins officiating.
Interment will follow at Roselawn Memory Gardens with Decatur County Sheriff’s Officers serving as active pallbearers. Full military honors will be provided by the U.S. Army Honor Guard from Fort Benning.
The family will receive friends Sunday, June 28, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Ivey Funeral Home.
Born on June 21, 1946, in Seattle, Wash., Mr. Ingle died on Thursday, June 25, 2009, in Birmingham, Ala. He was a U. S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War, and he was a retired staff sergeant with 25 years of service as fire chief in the Search and Rescue Division of the U.S. Army, served eight years with the Decatur County Sheriff’s Office, and retired as lieutenant warden of Decatur County Correctional Institute. He was a member of Port City Church of God.
Survivors include his wife of 37 years, Carolyn Ingle of Bainbridge, Ga.; three sons, Gary Scott Ingle, Jr. and Tim Ingle, both of Bainbridge, Ga., and David Ingle of Blakely, Ga.; his daughter, Tina I. Bridges of Blakely, Ga.; his sister, Janet I. Martineau of Moncks Corner, S.C.; and 14 grandchildren.
Ivey Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
