Jim Shelmon

Jim Wallace Shelmon, 60, of Bainbridge, were held Saturday, May 30, at Morris Temple First Born Church with the Rev. Kelvin Wells officiating.
Interment followed at Jonas Lobe Cemetery with Freddie Brown, Nelson Shelmon Jr., James Christian, Wesley Travis, Andrew Bell, Alvin Christian serving as active pallbearers.
Born April 13, 1949, in the Cyrene community of Decatur County, Mr. Shelmon died Tuesday, May 26, at Memorial Hospital in Bainbridge.
He was a member of Morris Temple First Born Church in Bainbridge.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Bettie Jean Shelmon; a daughter, Sonya Shelmon; and a sister, Bertha Lee Travis.
Survivors include four sons, Patrick Shelmon of Bainbridge, and Jim Lee Shelmon, Darron Shelmon and Carlos Shelmon, all of Atlanta, Ga.; three sisters, Ada Bell of Tampa, Fla., Emma Lizzie Brown of Bainbridge and Betty Jean Christian of Bainbridge; a brother, Nelson Eugene Shelmon of Tampa, Fla.; seven grandchildren, special friends and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Bruton Mortuary was in charge of funeral arrangements.
