The Samaritan Counseling Center and Grace Church are partnering together again to present a new edition of Date Night.

Date Night is a casual evening of coffee and dessert, music and humor, and insight into marriage relationships. The next Date Night will begin at 7 p.m. on Saturday, May 16, at Grace Church. The cost is $15 per couple and child care is provided for children up to 8 years old.

Prior registration is recommended and some scholarships are available.

Date Night is aimed at strengthening marriages with practical teaching in a comfortable and accessible setting. Even though it takes place at a church, it is not a church service and is not a boring marriage seminar. It is designed to be a casual evening together for couples to focus or refocus on their marriage.

It can help good marriages become great marriages and struggling marriages to regain their hope and direction.

“One of our main goals is to get couples talking about their relationship before they drift apart,” said Chris Beam, director of the Samaritan Counseling Center. “So often couples in trouble don’t seek out help until they are deeply ingrained in unhealthy and hurtful patterns.”

Past topics of Date Night have been communication and the differences between men and women.

The topic of the upcoming presentation is cultivating romance.

Humorous videos and a live band give the evening a “late night show” feel. In the past, the band has intertwined hits from Boston, U2, Kansas, Van Halen, Daughtry, John Mayer, Carrie Underwood, Faith Hill, Rascal Flatts and many others.
