Leaders to learn about federal disaster relief

Decatur County Commissioners and government officials will meet with Federal Emergency Management Agency officials on Monday, May 11, at 10 a.m. in the meeting room of the County Administration Building, located at 203 W. Broughton St. in Bainbridge. The meeting is open to the public. In related news, Seminole County was one of eight South Georgia counties included under a new presidential disaster declaration, which will make them eligible for public assistance from the federal government. Individuals who have not yet applied for federal disaster relief can apply by calling (800) 621-3362 or TTY (800) 462-7585, seven days a week between 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. They can also go online to www.DisasterAssistance.gov.
