Horace Sellars

Funeral services for Horace C. Sellars, 86, of Tallahassee, Fla., will be held on Saturday, May 9, at 2 p.m. at Immanuel Baptist Church in Tallahassee.
Born March 25, 1923, Sellars died Tuesday, May 5, in Tallahassee.
Mr. Sellars graduated from Brinson High School in Brinson, Ga., and attended Florida State University. He was a Realtor, general contractor and certified property manager. Mr. Sellars served in the U.S. Navy during World War II where he provided services to wounded soldiers as a Medic, receiving several commendations including a World War II Victory Medal, Good Conduct Medal, American Area Ribbon and was commended for outstanding service at the Naval Air Station in Norfolk, Va.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Claude and Alpha Sellars, and the mother of his children, Beatrice “Bea” Sellars.
Survivors include his former wife, Marilyn Sellars; two sons, Preston H. Sellars of Tallahassee and Charles A. Sellars of Nashville, Tenn.; two daughters, Alice S. Diestelhorst of Tallahassee and Judy K. Fernandez of Orlando, Fla.; as well as eight grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
Culley’s MeadowWood Funeral Home in Tallahassee, Fla., is in charge of arrangements.
