Funeral services for Frank H. Cottles Jr., 75, of Cairo, Ga., will be held Thursday, May 7, at 2 p.m. at Family Worship Center in Cairo with Pastor Johnny Moore officiating.
Interment will follow at 4 p.m. at Oak City Cemetery in Bainbridge with John Wilkinson, Jeff Mobley, Fred Broome, Wayne Morgan, Terry Darsey and Richard Castillo serving as active pallbearers.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, May 6, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Ivey Funeral Home.
Born Dec. 15, 1933, in Bainbridge, Mr. Cottles died Monday, May 4, 2009, at Grady General Hospital in Cairo, Ga.
Mr. Cottles served in the Georgia National Guard, was a millwright and the owner and operator of Southern Electrical and Mechanical. He was a member of Family Worship Center in Cairo.
Mr. Cottles was preceded in death by his wife, Bessie Owen Cottles; his son, Terry Cottles; two brothers, Robert Smith Cottles and W.H. “Billy” Cottles, and his sister, Carol Oglesby.
Survivors include his son, Gary F. Cottles of Pelham, Ga.; three daughters, Sharon C. Lowe, Karon C. Johnson and Roberta C. Humphries, all of Cairo; two brothers, Melvin Cottles and David Cottles, both of Bainbridge: 12 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
Ivey Funeral Home is in charge of funeral arrangements.
