If there is one person who has defined what Bainbridge College is, it is Edward D. Mobley.

So it is only fitting that the second building on Bainbridge College’s campus named after a person be named after President Emeritus Mobley.

Mobley’s namesake will be the Administration Building, which is between the nature trail and the library.

The first building was the Charles H. Kirbo Regional Center, which is named after the man who ensured the area would get a college and the land for it to build it on.

Mobley oversaw the construction of the first five buildings on the Bainbridge campus, including the one to be named after him. He also recruited the charter faculty, staff and students, and the creation of the original curriculum.

As current BC President Tom Wilkerson said, “Mobley laid the foundations of the excellent community relations the college enjoys today.”

On Sunday at 3 p.m., Mobley will be honored as the college’s founding president and the dedication of the Edward D. Mobley Administration Building will take place.

The Mobley Building—has a nice ring to it.
