Services for Andrew Jackson Loyd, 79, of Cairo, Ga., were on Sunday, April 19, at Hilltop Bible Baptist Church in Cairo, Ga., with the Rev. Glen Scoggin officiating.

Interment followed in Greenwood Cemetery in Cairo, Ga.

Born on Jan. 20, 1930, in Donalsonville, Ga., Mr. Loyd died on Friday, April 17, 2009, at Grady General Hospital.

He was a carpenter and member of Hilltop Bible Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Daisy Mae Rash Loyd; a daughter, Janice Daughtry; a granddaughter, Candi Adams; a grandson, Gregg Maxwell and several brothers and sisters.

Survivors include two daughters, Betty Jean Adams of Atlanta, Ga., and Carolyn Maxwell of Cairo, Ga.; a son, Marvin L. Worrell of Cleveland, Ga.; three brothers, Rudolph Loyd of Lake Seminole, Ga., Ray Loyd of Lakeland, Fla., and Buddy Loyd of Albany, Ga.; two sisters, Carlotte Hand of Bainbridge, Ga., and Sue Childre of Leesburg, Fla., and nine grandchildren.

Clark Funeral Home in Cairo was in charge of arrangements.
