Interact Club bears bad weather to assist Senior Center

Nicole Gadson and Allison Howard of the Bainbridge High School Interact Club beared bad weather on April 2 to keep their promise to the Decatur County Senior Center to help with a dinner to honor the volunteers of the center.

Only about 30 people out of 70 were able to attend due to the bad weather, but a good time was had by those who did attend.

A wonderful dinner was served by the staff and the Interact Club to the volunteers and while eating, they enjoyed the tremendous voices of Annabeth Goodman, Wynn Butler, Kristian McCann and Amanda McCann. These fine young people put on a wonderful performance and we thank them for it. We hope you will all come back and entertain us again.

At the end of the evening, gifts were given to all present and a beautiful handmade quilt made by Jewel Williams with the help of Eunice Hines, Carolyn Savage and Daisy Butler was drawn for and won by Mr. Carol McLendon. No one could have been a happier man to have decided to attend in this weather after winning that quilt. Thanks to all those who did come and we understand why the others couldn’t. Hopefully next year will be better.
