The Georgia Department of Natural Resources (DNR) has proposed adjusting parking fees at state parks.

A public hearing is set for April 6 in Atlanta, and public comments will be accepted through April 24.  The DNR board will vote on the proposed increase at its next meeting on April 29.

Revenue generated from parking fees is used for maintenance and repair projects at Georgia’s 63 state parks and historic sites.

State park visitors currently pay $3 per vehicle, while frequent guests can buy an Annual ParkPass for $30.

If approved by the DNR board, the daily parking fee will increase to $5 and the annual pass will increase to $50, effective May 20. New military and group discounts would be introduced as well.
