They returned to Region 1-AAAA action Tuesday against the Americus-Sumter County High School Panthers in Americus. They will host the Hardaway High School Golden Hawks of Columbus in a region game Friday at 6 p.m. at Bearcat Field.

The Bearcats went ahead of the Seminoles for good Friday night when they rallied for two runs in the top of the second. Coram reached base on an error to ignite the rally. Right fielder Steven Goodman drew a walk and both runners came home when first baseman Michael Dobbs smashed a clutch two-out double.

The score remained 2-0 until the Bearcats’ eight-run top of the sixth. Catcher Drew Kelley started the rally with a leadoff double and came home when third baseman Tyler Hutchins followed with an RBI single.

Coram doubled Hutchins home with the inning’s second run and scored the third run himself when designated hitter Bryan Digby was safe on an error.

Right fielder Goodman was hit by a pitch and moved up to second when Digby scored on an error, allowing second baseman Ryan Wade to reach. Dobbs walked to load the bases and center fielder Dee Friday and shortstop Drew Day were hit by pitches forcing in Goodman and Wade with the inning’s fifth and sixth runs. Dobbs and Day scored on an error.

The Seminoles scored their only run in the bottom of the sixth on a single, a walk and a double.
