Funeral services for William E. “Bill” Baker, 82, of Bainbridge, will be held Wednesday, March 18, at 2 p.m. at Cornerstone Baptist Church with Dr. Jack Piland officiating.
Interment will follow at Roselawn Memory Gardens.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, March 17, from 6 to 7 p.m. at Ivey Funeral Home.
Born on Dec. 17, 1926, in Cobb County, Ga., Mr. Baker died on Sunday, March 15, 2009, at Memorial Hospital in Bainbridge.
Mr. Baker graduated from Alabama School For The Blind, was a retired broom winder for Georgia Industries for The Blind, and was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Eva Ruth Hinton Baker, and his son, William E. Baker Jr.
Survivors include three daughters, Joy B. Davis of Bainbridge, Edna B. Kennedy of Spring Hill, Fla., and Julie Marie Guzman of Brinson; his brother, John D. Baker of Milledgeville, Ga.; his sister, Dollie Austin of Macon, Ga.; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Ivey Funeral Home in Bainbridge is in charge of arrangements.
