Over-joyed with response

I was overjoyed by the response to my request for books to benefit the Bainbridge-Decatur County Humane Society’s first Annual Book Fair.

The generosity of the people of Bainbridge is beyond words except, Thank You!

Not only did area folks donate books by the hundreds, but local schools and businesses pitched in too.

Thanks to Bainbridge High School, Elcan-King Elementary, Tractor Supply and Kimberly’s Pet Salon for allowing collection boxes to be placed on their premises. Thanks to St. John’s Episcopal Church for allowing us to use their parish hall and to the Episcopal Church Women who set out a great lunch for book browsers. Thanks to Domino’s Pizza, Cat’s Pajamas-pet sitter, St. John’s and the Humane Society for donating prizes (and thanks to Abby Pruett and Barbara Snell, who donated prize winnings back to the Humane Society.)

Thanks to the Book Nook who bought left-over books and made a nice donation to the Humane Society. Thanks to everyone who helped to make this a fun day! Hope to see you all at the Second Annual Book Fair next year.

P.S., any left-over books have been donated to other good causes in our community.
