Three suspects were arrested on Feb. 24 for conspiracy to manufacture methamphetamine by Sheriff’s Office deputies.

Investigator Chip Nix received information from a confidential informant that three individuals were going to a local drug store to purchase the precursors for production of the drug and then would be traveling to the home of 23-year-old Michael Dewayne Hutto.

Nix provided deputies with the description of the vehicle the suspects were said to be traveling in.

Sgt. Ed Moorhead performed a traffic stop on a vehicle matching the description. Moorhead received permission to search the vehicle and located a small baggie containing marijuana as well as the meth precursors, according to Nix.

Investigators conducted a search of Hutto’s home at 2632 Thomasville Hwy., and discovered several other precursors for meth production. Hutto and the other two passengers in the vehicle, 19-year-old Jacob Kyle McMillan of 1315 Newton Road and 23-year-old James Bradford Prescott of Donalsonville, were charged with unlawful possession of pseudoephedrine, criminal attempt to manufacture meth and conspiracy to manufacture meth.

Hutto, who was the also the driver of the vehicle, was charged with driving while license suspended.

Prescott was also charged with possession of marijuana.

Searches net suspected drugs, firearms

Bainbridge Public Safety Investigators arrested two suspects for possession of marijuana with intent to distribute after executing a search warrant at an apartment on Pine Street.

Investigators Chris Jordan, Mark Esquivel, James Dollar, Alton Brock and Frank Green executed the search warrant at 1649 Pine St., Apt. C early on the morning of Feb. 24—finding the residents of the home still asleep, according to incident reports.

The officers discovered a small safe containing more than an ounce of suspected marijuana. Inside the home they also discovered a digital scale commonly used for weighing the drugs and a large amount of cash.

The two residents of the home, Cheston Allen Meredith, 19, and Jessica Marie Timmons, 17, were both arrested and charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute.

In an unrelated incident, BPS investigators executed another search warrant on Friday, Feb. 27, finding cocaine as well as two firearms inside a a home located at 1016 Water St.

There, investigators found powder and crack cocaine along with a loaded .38-caliber handgun and an assault rifle with a 30-round clip, Investigator Esquivel said.

Residents of the home, 33-year-old Shawn Webb and 24-year-old Adrian McKay, were both charged with trafficking cocaine, possession of cocaine with intent to distribute, possession of cocaine within 1,000 feet of a housing project and possession of a firearm during commission of a crime. Webb was also charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

In a third incident, a Bainbridge man was arrested on Feb. 24 when his parole officer found a large amount of marijuana in his pockets.

According to incident reports, Parole Officer Mark Smith and another officer went to speak with one of their parolees, 31-year-old Frederick Nundra at 1107 E. Broughton St. The officers searched Nundra and found 13 bags of suspected marijuana.

Nundra was arrested by Bainbridge Public Safety investigators and charged with two counts of possession of marijuana with intent to distribute and possession of marijuana with intent to distribute.

Arrested for selling drugs at school

A student at Bainbridge High School was arrested of Feb. 24 after he was found with several bags containing marijuana at school.

BPS Investigator Mark Esquivel received information that a high school student, 17-year-old Quinton Alaston Carridis of 721 Orange St. in Bainbridge, was in possession of marijuana and selling it at school, according to incident reports.

Esquivel contacted Chief School Resource Officer Paul Gordon, who conducted a search of Carridis and located a pill bottle containing five small bags of suspected marijuana. Carridis was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute and possession of marijuana within 1,000 feet of a school.
