Jason Voorhees is back….AGAIN!

In this remake of the 1980’s film, the action is jammed-pack from beginning to end. For the first 10 minutes or so there is a climactic preview, which sort of gives you the background into the plot of this sinister thriller.

The movie takes place at Camp Crystal Lake, where a group of young, adventurous adults have set out on a camping trip. A couple of whom are trying to secretly locate some marijuana that had been rumored to be growing there.

After venturing out, one couple stumbles upon a boarded up cabin, and discovers a locket, bearing Jason’s now deceased mother’s picture inside. The picture bears an astounding resemblance to Jenna (played by Danielle Panabaker) and she decides to keep the locket. Shortly afterwards, everyone in the camp, one by one, encounters the wrath of Jason Voorhees (played by Derek Mears) and all are dead….or so we think.

The plot thickens as Jenna’s brother,Clay (played by Jared Padalecki) has now come to Crystal Lake in search of his sister, who has been “missing” for nearly a month now. His various encounters and narrow escapes are sure to keep you in nail-biting suspense. One unsuspecting victim even catches a bow and arrow straight through the skull…ouch!!

The lighting in this movie, in my opinion, was very dark in some of the killing scenes making it hard to see the bloody specifics of how Jason took some of his victims out. However I was pleased with this movie, overall. If you love action, suspense and bloody gore, then Friday the 13th is a definite must-see.
