A night at the museum came to life Feb. 5 at West Bainbridge Middle School. Historical figures from past to present decades, as well as Greek, Roman and Norse gods donned the halls. In all, 24 students stood perfectly still in the shadow of spotlights as the community toured the school’s 14th annual Wax Museum.

Weeks before the production, each student selected a person that he or she felt worthy to be in a museum.

Sixth-graders represented mythological figures, while seventh-graders chose a personality from American or world history.

Each eighth-grader selected a person in Georgia history. All students researched their characters and created 7-foot backdrops embellished with facts and pictures.

Then, the students themselves, posed in front of their backboards and “became” wax figures.

On Friday, Feb. 6, the students dressed in costume, visited John Johnson Elementary School. Their mission was to become their characters and bring history alive as they toured each room and taught the children about themselves. The elementary children seemed enthusiastic and eager to greet the talking wax figures from the past.
