Both Bainbridge College locations in Bainbridge and Blakely will welcome high school seniors and their parents Sunday, Feb. 15, for College Goal Sunday.

The event is designed to help students and their families complete financial aid applications. Other south Georgia locations are Lowndes and Ware counties.

Participants can attend the event on the Main Campus, 2500 E. Shotwell St., in rooms 268 and 269 in the Arts and Sciences Building, or at the BC Early County Site, 40 Harold Ragan Dr., Blakely, room 129.

The hands-on sessions start at 2 p.m. and end at 4 p.m., said Beth Harrell of the Financial Aid Office who is event coordinator at the Bainbridge site. Natasha Hudson is the coordinator for Blakely.

Students and families who attend will have free help from experts to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) form for the 2009-10 academic year. The FAFSA must be completed by April 1 each year to expedite aid for education beyond high school.

College Goal Sunday offers free on-site professional assistance completing the FAFSA, and time to talk to financial aid professionals about financial aid resources and how to apply for them.

Those who plan to attend should register for a Personal Identification Number (PIN) at www.pin.ed.gov. Parents who have registered for another child do not have to register again. Students need to bring their parents’ and their own 2008 tax returns if available and W2s, Social Security numbers, the PIN and other income information.

More about the program is available at www.CollegeGoalSundayGa.com or from Harrell in the BC Financial Aid Office, (229) 248-2591, and from Hudson in Early County at (229) 724-2104.
