Pearlie Barber

Funeral services for Pearlie Lee Barber, 66, of Donalsonville, Ga., were held on Sunday, Jan. 18, at Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church in Donalsonville, Ga.. with the Rev. David Washington officiating.

Interment followed at St. John Church Cemetery in Donalsonville, Ga., with Terry Hopson, Steve Register, Samuel Orange, Carlos Register, Willie Register, Taurse Jones, Terry Reynolds and Ronald Jones serving as pallbearers. Her grandsons served as honorary pallbearers.

Born in Houston County, Ala., Mrs. Barber was a member of the Holy Neck Missionary Baptist Church in Donalsonville and she was a member of the LEM of Iron City, Ga. She was preceded in death by two children whom died while infants; three brothers, L.B. Register, Willie Frank Register and Elish Dawsey, and a grandson.

She is survived by her husband, Thomas Barber Jr. of Donalsonville; three daughters, Shirley Wilson, Julia Reynolds and Janice Burnett, all of Donalsonville; three sons, Willie Barber and Thomas Barber III, both of Donalsonville, and Timothy Barber of Bainbridge, Ga.; four sisters, Rudy Pearl Barber, Evelee Hention, Jeanett Brown and Patrica Barber, all of Donalsonville; three brothers, Mose Register of Bainbridge, Ezekeil Register of Thomasville, Ga., and Danley Register of Americus, Ga.; 19 grandchildren, two grandsons whom she raised, Antone Orange and Cedric Grigley of Donalsonville; one step-grandchild she raised, Chiquita Lee; 12 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

Bruton Mortuary was in charge of services.
