Suspect wanted in Florida murder arrested

A suspect has been arrested and charged with first-degree murder in connection with a Florida death with evidence links in Bainbridge.

Twenty-two-year-old Lindsey was found dead in her home by relatives at her home in Tallahassee, Fla., on Dec. 29. The Leon County Sheriff’s Office Violent Crime Detectives obtained information and evidence that implicated Haywood Henry III, 19, of Tallahassee in the murder, according to a LCSO news release.

Thanks to a tip from a local citizen, Lindsey’s vehicle, a 1994 White Oldsmobile Cutlass, was discovered in Bainbridge the night of Dec. 29 in a parking lot near the intersection of Shotwell and South Scott streets. Bainbridge Public Safety Investigator Chris Jordan contacted the LCSO, which came and picked up the vehicle.

On Dec. 31, LCSO detectives received information as to Henry’s whereabouts. He was discovered by a SWAT team hiding in a refrigerator at a residence not far from where the murder occurred.
