Names of Bainbridge High School Bearcat football players were dominant on the coaches All-Region 1AAAA and The Albany Herald All-Area football teams released over the weekend.

The naming of four Bearcats to the first team and four more to the second team highlighted the Region coaches All-Region 1AAAA team.

First-teamers were senior offensive guard Ben Reynolds, who had 27 pancake blocks; senior offensive tackle Jaron Ousley, who had 47 pancake blocks, and senior wide receiver Melzie Johnson, who had 37 receptions for 678 yards and five touchdowns.

Bearcats defensive back Marquis Williams, who also returned kickoffs and punts, was named to the first team twice, once as a defensive back and once as a special-teamer. He led the Region in interceptions with eight and had 11 kickoff returns for 316 and a 28.7 yards per return average and 16 punt returns for 249 yards and a 15.6 yards per return average.

Reynolds, Ousley, Johnson and Williams were also named to The Albany Herald All-Area team along with Bearcat sophomore quarterback Rohan Gaines and Bearcat sophomore place kicker Keenan Adams.

Gaines led Region 1AAAA in total offense with an average of 157.7 yards a game.

Adams, who was also second team All-Region 1AAAA, was a perfect 31 of 31 on extra point attempts and 8 of 11 on field goal attempts with a long field goal of 45 yards. He also made honorable mention All-Region 1AAAA as a punter, averaging 34.8 yards on 12 punts and putting four punts inside the 20-yard line.

Bearcats joining Adams on the coaches All-Region 1AAAA second team were sophomore defensive tackle Quatavaus Middleton, who had 16 tackles, four tackles for loss, one caused fumble and one quarterback sack and senior linebacker Andre Conner, who had 61 tackles, five tackles for loss, one quarterback sack and two caused fumbles.

Also on the All-Region 1AAAA second team were Bearcats senior defensive back Eric Henry, who led the team with 70 tackles. Four of his tackles were for losses and he had one caused fumble, one interception and five pass break-ups.

Bearcats junior defensive back Jonathan Warren made honorable mention All-Region 1AAAA. He had 52 tackles, three tackles for loss, one caused fumble and four fumble recoveries, one of which he recovered for a touchdown.
