One voice

A unified voice does make a difference.

For so long as the Water Wars waged, southwest Georgia’s voice has been but a whisper or a single voice such as that of Dr. Oscar Jackson, or one or two other dedicated souls who made protecting our water resources a mission.

But for the last several months, and again on Tuesday, Dec. 16, at 3 p.m., southwest Georgia’s voice over water issue could perhaps grow a little louder.

The Lake Seminole Association will hold its annual membership meeting beginning at 3 p.m. at the Spring Creek Volunteer Fire Department on State Road 253, just before Seminole State Park. Scheduled to be at the meeting is Col. Byron G. Jorns, district commander of the Mobile District with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.

This meeting would be a good opportunity for those concerned about the future of our water resources to join a common cause—”to protect the interests of one of America’s greatest lakes”—the association’s motto states.

Go to the meeting, join the Lake Seminole Association and help strengthen the voice of southwest Georgia in this battle over our water.
