Ronald Crawford and Jamar Cosby combined for 28 points Monday, but it was not enough as the Bainbridge High School ninth-grade Bearcats bowed 63-43 to the Seminole County High School ninth-grade Indians in basketball played at the Decatur County Memorial Coliseum.

Crawford led the way with 15 points, and Cosby put in 13.

It was the second game this season between the two ninth-grade teams at the Coliseum. In the first one on Nov. 24, the Bearcats won 69-50 behind a 23-point performance by Rodney Glenn and a 21-point effort by Devon Baulkman.

“We had our chances to win,” Bearcats ninth-grade coach Brandon Ingram said after the game. “We cut the lead to 10 points in the third quarter.

Rodney Glenn, the team’s leading scorer in the first game, is not with the ninth-grade team anymore. Bearcats Head Varsity Coach Rickey McCullough moved him up to the varsity.

“We’ve got to do a better job of blocking out and rebounding and getting more aggressive overall,” Ingram said. “We got some good shots, but they just didn’t go down. Sometimes it kind of seemed like there was a lid on the basket.”
