On Tuesday, Nov. 25, first-grade students at Elcan-King Elementary School learned all about magnets and the work scientists do with magnets as they participated in the Primary Magnet Exploration workshop led by Carlos Villa, outreach coordinator for the Tallahassee Magnet Lab. Students learned how geologists use magnets to study rocks and how scientists at the Tallahassee Magnet Lab are making discoveries using their high-powered magnets. Students explored magnets of different shapes and sizes to make their own discoveries about magnets and their magnetic fields.
