The Jones-Wheat Elementary School and Grace Christian Academy Tigers shut out the West Bainbridge Elementary School Wildcats to win the Bainbridge Leisure Services Department and Bainbridge-Decatur County YMCA Youth Football League 9- and 10-year-old championship.

The game was played Nov. 12 at Centennial Field.

YMCA CEO Ken Bailey said coach Brandon Taylor’s Tigers played a nearly perfect game against coach Alan Williams’ Wildcats.

“The Tigers were led offensively by quarterbacks Miles Thomas and Sean Saake, and running back Trey Stubbs,” Bailey said. “Leading the Tigers’ defense were Noah Bryant and Lance Cosby.”

“Quarterback Timothy Bennett had several big plays for the Wildcats offense,” Bailey continued. “Kerenski Williams stabilized the Wildcats defense.”
