Duvall to speak at Ag Lunch

Zippy Duvall, the president of the Georgia Farm Bureau, will be the scheduled speaker at Friday’s Chamber of Commerce Agricultural Appreciation Luncheon, when the Decatur County Ag Woman of the Year, Frances Edmunds and Ag Man of the year, Douglas Dean, will be honored.

Duvall is a third generation Greene County dairyman. He and his wife, Bonnie, now operate a 150 brood cow beef operation, produce and sell quality hay, and are poultry producers.

A Farm Bureau member since 1977, Duvall currently serves on the Greene County Farm Bureau board of directors and has held numerous leadership positions in the county Farm Bureau including vice president and president, when he was elected president of the Georgia Farm Bureau in December 2006.

In 1982, he was named Georgia Farm Bureau and the American Farm Bureau Young Farmer of the Year. Duvall is past chairman of the Greene County Board of Commissioners. His 30 years of community and public service include currently serving on Gov. Sonny Perdue’s Agricultural Advisory Committee.
