Funeral services for Ollie Bridges Josey, 82, of Brinson, Ga., were held Monday, Nov. 10, in the Chapel of Ivey Funeral Home with the Revs. Newton Cranford and Al Wilbourn officiating.
Interment followed at Colquitt City Cemetery with Joel Josey, Eric Burke, Frank Williams, Avery Hutto, B.J. Josey and Cody Harman serving as active pallbearers.
Mrs. Josey was born in Newton, Ga., the daughter of Robert A. Bridges and Ollie Agnes Mason Bridges, and died Saturday, Nov. 8, 2008, at her home of 60 years.
She retired from Georgia State Hospital as a nurse, was a member of Woodmen of the World, the Decatur County Senior Center and a member of Bethel Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Ervin “Sambo” Josey and Wallace Booth, her daughter, Cynthia Josey; and her sister, Juanita Massingale.
Survivors include three sons, Ronnie Josey of Brinson, John S. Phillips II of Fort Bragg, N.C., and Jeffrey M. Phillips of Kansas City, Mo.; a stepdaughter, Pamela Immendorf of Bainbridge; her sister, Bobbie Baker of Albany, Ga.; two grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Ivey Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
