Check us out on Saturday

This Saturday is a day that I have looked forward to for several months now. In addition to our normal duties of publishing The Post-Searchlight every Wednesday and Saturday, many members of our staff have been busy working on our new Web site at www.thepostsearchlight.com.

I am excited that we finally get to unveil our digital edition on Saturday. Hopefully, you will find our new site interactive, informative, useful, easy and entertaining. That was our goal in developing and designing it. We put much credence into open communication with you, our readers and customers, and this site will allow communication with us and with each other.

Please take a few minutes to register on the site and feel free to leave comments and questions about the various stories, reports and opinion pieces that you will see on the site on a daily basis. I encourage you to take a minute to register and let everyone know what you think.

The new www.thepostsearchlight.com will have more photos, more stories, more opinions, more interactivity and a couple of new features not on our existing site.

Want some more?

In addition to the redesigned and updated newspaper Web site, we are launching a second site, www.bainbridgeseen.com. We want to know what and who you have seen. This is a photograph exchange Web site and will include both photographs that our staff has taken and will give you the opportunity to upload your own photographs.

You might see our reporters at various events around the area, most of the time with camera in hand. Well, we usually use one or two of the dozens and dozens of the photos taken at any given event. The photos that don’t make it onto the pages of our newspaper will appear on this site in the “we’ve seen” area.

Now, here’s where we get to have some fun. We want to show off your favorite photos. A family picnic, some great sunset shots, a church gathering, a child’s birthday party, scenes on the river, whatever you are proud of and want to show photos to your friends and neighbors, upload them to www.bainbridgeseen.com.

And for you hunters and anglers, we have a special place reserved on the site. You can upload your big buck, your limit of dove, a big tom turkey to The Trophy Room. This special gallery will showcase southwest Georgia outdoorsmen and outdoorswomen and the results of their outings.

It takes just a moment to register and you are ready to go. I hope to have thousands and thousands of photographs on this site. And another neat feature of this site is your ability to purchase photos taken by our staff right on the spot. In addition, you can turn a photo into a jigsaw puzzle, a coffee mug or a mouse pad.

So, Saturday is a day I have been anticipating for a while. Check out both of our new sites, participate, and let us know what you think.
