The 2008 election is over, now where do we go from this point?

Late last night, Sen. Barack Obama was declared the winner, so where do we go from here? Will “change”—the cornerstone of his campaign—be for the better, or for the worse?

Just as this general election came down to the voters, where we go from here and how much we will change still depends on individuals like those who trekked to the polls Tuesday.

Will this country still be divided into Blue States and Red States, or will we come together as the United States of America?

Have U.S. citizens taken to heart Martin Luther King Jr.’s dream of people judging others by the content of their character instead of the color of their skin? Has this change occurred in a short 45 years?

This country faces some enormous challenges.

Obama could be a transformational president, not only because of this historic election, but because of what he offers to the office of the presidency and the promise he holds for the people of the United States.

From this point, can Obama restore America’s middle class and end the class warfare that was seeping into our economy?

From this point, can Obama restore America’s place as the world’s beacon of where dreams that come true?
