This morning (Friday, Oct. 16), I listened to a radio program featuring two women. One was a survivor of an abortion, and one was a nurse who had worked in a hospital that performed abortions. I was compelled to write this letter, because this is an issue that has not been focused on very much in this election.

Sen. Barack Obama’s position is for there to be no restrictions on abortion whatsoever, even late-term abortions, and you can hear him make the case of not supporting a bill to provide care for an infant who has survived an abortion because it may cause a mother to rethink her decision.

The pro-choice movement is not about choice at all. If it were, women considering abortion would be given the facts: there is a higher rate of depression and suicide in women who have had abortions; there is a link between abortions and breast cancer; and even infertility.

Yet you hear them talk about the “health of the mother.” If they were concerned with women’s health, they would look at the devastating results abortion brings. I ask you to look at the positions of each party.

If you are a Christian, can you give your vote to a candidate and party that stands for everything ungodly? I am reminded of the verse in Mark: “What shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul.”

No doubt our country and our economy are in dire straits. Corruption and greed have wreaked havoc in America. But could it be possible that America’s tolerance and even glorification of sin has brought God’s judgment on our nation?

Look at what comes on television and the movies. Listen to the songs on the radio. Look at how school districts are now trying to indoctrinate elementary students with the homosexual agenda. How many millions of babies have never had a chance at life because we call murder a choice?

I submit to you that as you cast your vote, ask yourself are you voting from your checkbook or your conscience? God promises to bless the nation that exalts Him. I get tired of hearing speeches of people who stand for everything God teaches against, and then conclude with “God Bless America.”

We cannot continue to ask God to bless something He hates. One day, each one of us will stand before God and give an account of our lives, and how we impacted the world around us. When you stand there on judgment day, what do you think God will say about your vote?
