Copper wiring stolen from homes

Thieves stripped copper wiring from air-conditioning units outside two residences within the past 10 days.

In the most recent incident, on Wednesday, March 17, a resident of the 2000 block of Butler Ferry Road reported someone had taken approximately 20 feet of copper tubing attached to the air-conditioning unit of a mobile home on the property.

On March 10, a resident of Alabama Street in Bainbridge reported returning to her home and finding her air-conditioning unit damaged. The unit appeared as if someone had tried to steal parts from it. In addition, a battery had been taken out of a car on the property.

Bulldogs classified as ‘potentially dangerous’

Last Sunday, March 14, a resident of Heritage C Circle reported that her small dog was killed in her yard by two bulldogs that had left their owners’ yards.

County Animal Control Officer Red Harrell identified who the dogs belonged to and took them to the Bainbridge Animal Shelter for safekeeping for 10 days in accordance with county ordinance. According to Harrell, Sunday was the third time the dogs’ owners had been warned about their animals running loose. Both owners were issued citations to appear in Magistrate Court.
