James was quiet and well mannered. He enjoyed life and being around the young nd the elderly. He loved watching TV, going to church, doing the lawns, visiting his friends across the street, feeding his cats and going to Bainbridge, Ga. to get his groceries from Food Giant Store, where he would see a lot of his friends that he used to work with at Decatur-Seminole Service Center.

June, as he was affectionately called, was a member of Bethel A.M.E. Church of Attapulgus, Ga., where he was a very dedicated and loyal servant. He served diligently as an usher. He was active in Sunday School and Bible study.

June leaves to cherish his memories: A dedicated and loving step-mother, Totsie Edmond of Attapulgus; siblings: Mercedes Jones (Steven) of Quincy, Fla. and V. Dewitt Edmond (Patricia) of Attapulgus; Uncle and Aunt David Edmond (Irene) of Attapulgus; nieces and nephews: Monica (Terrell), Richo, Joseph (Phan), Vincent, Jasmyn, Cortney, Steven and Arleena; great nieces and nephews: Venice, Amber, Jeremiah, Isaiah, Cayden, Asyah, Jasrick, and Brodie, as well as a host of cousins.

He also leaves to cherish his memories the Bethel A.M.E. Church family; employees of the Decatur Seminole Service Center; his friends, Felton Cooper Jr., Calvin Hall and Jamie Cooper.

June will be missed by all who would wave at him as he sat on the carport, step or lawn at his home. We miss you, June.

Funeral services will be held at Bethel A.M.E. Church of Attapulgus on Friday, March 16, 2018, at 1 p.m. with the Presiding Elder Patrick Brinson officiating.

Viewing will be held Thursday at 3 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Chandler’s Funeral Home.
