Humane Society will hold Art for Animals charity event

A charity art event to benefit the Bainbridge-Decatur County Humane Society’s building fund will be held Saturday, February 3, at the Firehouse Art Center from 6 to 9 p.m.

A similar, successful event was held two years ago, and Shelter Director Ashley White says it is the goal of the local Humane Society to duplicate, if not exceed that success so they can move forward with plans to build a badly needed new shelter.

The evening will be a party offering heavy hor d’oeuvres, with a cash bar and focusing on art for sale, with a silent auction. White says in addition to seeking sponsors, they are looking for artists who are willing to either donate their creations for sale, or to sell on a commission basis, splitting the proceeds with the Humane Society. “It does not need to be animal related art work, and all mediums are welcome,” she adds.

Sponsorship level ranges are: $150, $300, $500 and $1000.

Tickets are $35 each, or two for $60. Each ticket covers two drinks.

Tickets can be purchased at the Humane Society, or by calling 246-0101 or 220-3349.

It is a great time to join with fellow animal lovers for an evening of fun and fellowship while helping the local Humane Society reach their building fund goal.
