Bainbridge Christmas Parade set for Thursday

With more than 90 entries, Bainbridge’s Christmas parade is sure to wow everyone this Thursday night at 6:30.

The parade will start on the corner of Shotwell Street and Wheat and include groups such as the Bainbridge High School band, Decatur County Board of Commissioners, basketball cheerleaders, the Bainbridge-Decatur County Recreation Authority, humane society, Kids n’ Kops, Bainbridge Public Safety and various pageant title holders from around Decatur County.

It will also include Representative Darlene Taylor and the grand marshals, Dr. Jack and Joyce Leverett.

Special events coordinator, Megan Wimberley said she believes this year will be the best one yet.

She knows Bainbridge goes “all out” at Christmas, and the parade is another aspect of it.

People begin setting up about 5:45 and can gather around in the park after the parade is over for the children to meet Santa Claus and tell him what they want for Christmas.
