DCSO identifies victim in early morning homicide

12:00 P.M. update:

Sheriff Wiley Griffin has confirmed that the victim of the suspected homicide was 22-year old  Quentieria Knight. Griffin said that the cause of death was multiple gunshot wounds.

According to Griffin, Knight was discovered in her car which had come to a rest half in the road and half in the grass on Zorn Road near the intersection with Highway 27 North.

Investigators said that the suspected homicide occurred between the hours of 11 p.m. Thursday night and 5 a.m. Friday morning. If you have information or saw the four door small white car in which the victim was found in the area between those hours, DCSO asks that you call Investigator Robert Humphrey 229-400-8012 or Investigator Jason Williams 229-400-8016.

9:30 A.M.

The Decatur County Sheriff’s Office and Georgia Bureau of Investigation are investigating a suspected homicide that occurred during the night on Zorn Road/Highway 27 North according to Sheriff Wiley Griffin.

According to Chief Deputy Wendell Cofer, a citizen called in a suspicious vehicle on Zorn Road. Decatur County Sheriff’s officers received the initial report at 4:32 a.m. Friday morning that a car had been sitting in the roadway with its lights on for thirty-five minutes.

DCSO and GBI crime labs are now working the scene as an active homicide investigation.

Griffin confirmed that the victim was a woman and that she was found in her car. The victim has been removed from the scene and transported to the GBI crime lab for further investigation.
