Howard C. Tillery

Funeral services for Howard C. Tillery, 82, of Cairo, Ga., are at 3 p.m., Wednesday, April 13, 2016, at Midway Baptist Church, Cairo.  Rev. Steve Poppell, Rev. Kenneth Cloud and Rev. Johnny Burdick will officiate.  Interment will be in Midway Baptist Church Cemetery, Cairo.  Mr. Tillery passed away at Grady General Hospital in Cairo, on Monday, April 11, 2016.

Mr. Tillery was born on July 23, 1933, in Moultrie, Ga., to the late A. R. Tillery and Allie Hancock Tillery.  He served his country in the U. S. Navy.  On July 2, 1957, he married Patricia Hood Tillery, who survives.  He served as a Baptist minister for over sixty years.  He was a member of Midway Baptist Church in Cairo.

Survivors include: wife, Patricia Tillery of Cairo,; daughter and son-in-law, Erin T. and Darryl Boyett of Climax; sons and daughter-in-law, Robin Tillery of Iron City, Ga., Kevin and Janet Tillery of Ireland; grandchildren and spouses, Beau and Jessica Boyett of Cairo,  Seth and Kristin Boyett of Waycross, Ga., Andrew Tillery, Jordan Tillery, both of Ireland; great-grandchildren, Abigail Boyett, Ethan Boyett, of Cairo, Jake Boyett of Waycross; sister, Martha Tillery of Lenox, Ga.; and a host of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by: his parents; 2 brothers; and a sister. Memorials may be made in Mr. Tillery’s memory to:  Midway Baptist Church, 2389 GA HWY 93 South, Cairo, GA  39828.

The family will receive friends at Midway Baptist Church immediately following the service.
