Celebration of life services for Elder Bobby Henry, Sr, 51, of Jakin, Ga. were held Tuesday, March 29, 2016 at 1 p.m. at the New Bethel M.B. Church located at 1100 Allen Rd in Dothan, Alabama. Dr. Walter Bowers is Pastor, Bishop Jocquette Carroll officiated. The internment followed at the St. Paul AME Cemetery. Visitation services were held Monday, March 28, 2016 from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the St. Paul AME Church in Jakin. Presiding Elder Bobby Henry, Sr. was born August 4, 1964 to Wilbert Henry, Sr. and Jeanette Ford Williams in Donaldsonville, Ga. He confessed Christ at an early age at Bethel AME Methodist Church in Jakin. Elder Henry continued in his walk in faith when he joined the United Holiness Church where he became a deacon. In 2008, God birthed Forgiving Ministries to Elder Henry, incorporated with Shouting Time Ministries under the direction of Bishop J. Carroll, where he faithfully served as pastor and elder in Christ until he was called home on March 24, 2016. Elder Henry lived a full life surrounded by family and friends.Elder Henry joined the Army Reserves at the age of 17 and enlisted fulltime upon graduation from Early County High School in 1982. He worked as a rifle marksman, light wheel vehicle mechanic, artillery specialist, and heavy machine operator specialist. He continued his education at Troy State University while serving.

Elder Henry was united in holy matrimony to Annie Salter on March 23, 1985. She was the “sugar in his coffee.” Elder Henry was passionate about his faith and his family. He was always willing to lend a helping hand or listening ear. As the Presiding Elder of Forgiving Ministries, he strived to spread the gospel and touch the lives of others.

Elder Henry leaves to cherish his memory and carry on his legacy, his devoted and dedicated wife, Annie Salter Henry; eight children: Delawrence (Tekoa) Moses of St Petersburg, Fla., Byron (Tina) Henry and Erica Johnson, of McDonough, Ga, Terrance (Genea) Henry, of Sylvester, Ga , Gabrielle (Germain) Brown of Bainbridge, Ga,  Albry (Sanquesha), Henry and Deion Henry of Jakin, Ga,, Heather Lynn Henry; fourteen grandchildren, Paris Eziah, Amarion, Jordan, Taylor, Albreonna, Londyn, Ma’liya, Journey, Trinity, Dallas, Jason, Skylar, Triston, and Elizabeth; A mother, Jeanette Williams; siblings Wilbert (Jewel) Henry, Janice (Lamar) Cheatam, Rodney Collier, Barry (Burnita) Henry, Gary (Lynn) Wallace, Jerome (Dawn) Wallace, Sabrina (Shaheem) Montgomery , Bobby Walter (Alisha) Henry, a special sister-in-law, Rachael Henry and host of step-siblings, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncle, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by sons, Bobby Cordarrell Henry, Jr, and Alvin Wilson Henry, and a father, Wilbert Henry, Sr.
