Jane Parker Singleton, age 85, died Friday, March 11, 2016, in Camden, South Carolina. She was born in 1930 in Climax, Ga., the daughter of the late Robert Thomas Parker and Daisy Harrell Parker. She grew up on her family farm in the Parker District near Whigham. Her friends called her “Betty Jane” in those days. Jane attended Climax public schools, Georgia State College and Kings Business College. She moved to Conway, SC in 1954 where she met and married Edward M. “Dick” Singleton. She lived in Conway for 25 years before relocating to Florida. In 2008 she returned to SC to live in Camden near her family.

Jane is survived by her daughter, Francesca Seccafico (Pete) of St. Augustine, Fla.; sons, Stephen Singleton (Beth) of Gulf Breeze, Fla. and Kim Singleton (Sara) of Aynor, SC; and three grandchildren, Parker, Morgan and Claire.

Jane was predeceased by her parents, Robert and Daisy Parker; brothers, Harrell, Bobby and Billy; and sisters, Roberta, Francesca Register, Ruth Harden, Tillie Nichols, Doris Jansen, and Thelda Castleberry.

The family would like to thank the kind staff at Pinedale Residential Center and KershawHealth Karesh Wing for the care she received while a resident at both facilities.

The family will hold graveside services at Mars Hill Cemetery in Decatur County, Georgia on Saturday, April 2, 2016 at 10 a.m. The Rev. Allen Griffin will officiate.
