Gloria served her community in many capacities over the years, from Dr. Edwin Griffin’s office to Hurt Paint and Body, as a trustee for Georgia Baptist Children’s Homes for over 20 years, and a member of Calvary Baptist Church.

Gloria was quite a character. She was one of the most well-dressed women in Bainbridge,  never leaving her home not dressed to the nines regardless of the occasion. She loved her dogs, especially Smokey, and was known to serve him t-bone steaks from Eastside Grocery. Gloria’s friendly personality brought sunshine to a rainy day. She loved unconditionally and devoted herself to caring for her family and friends. She was part of a special group of women, The Golden Girls, that model what friendship really is.

Survivors include her son, Glenn Shepard and his wife, Cindy, of Nashville, Tenn.; her sister-in-law, Patricia Shepard of Bainbridge and her nephew, Scott Shepard of Dothan, Ala.. Gloria was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved husband of 55 years, Danny Shepard
