Mabel H. Sellers, a resident of Dothan, Ala., and formerly of Bainbridge, Georgia, died Saturday, March 5, 2016 at her residence. She was 83.

Graveside services for Mrs. Sellers will be held at 3 p.m., Monday, March 7, 2016 at Memory Hill cemetery with Dr. Joseph Johnson officiating. The family received friends from 4 until 6 p.m. Sunday, March 6, 2016 at Evergreen Presbyterian Church, 1103 N. Pontiac, Dothan.  Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Resource Center, PO Box 1170, Dothan, AL 36302.

The daughter of the late Jay Alexander and Lucile Cohron Hodges, Mabel Sellers was a Dothan native and married to E.J. (Jerry) Sellers. Mabel and Jerry moved to Bainbridge, Georgia in 1967 where they started an oil company franchise with Amoco through the year 2000. After retirement they settled back in Dothan to be near family. Mabel was active with the Bainbridge Little Theater, American Cancer Society and a member of the First Presbyterian Church and choir. Aside from living part time in Destin, Florida, Mabel and Jerry travelled the world together and have woven a rich tapestry of memory and meaning into many people’s lives, hearts and minds. Loved shared and lessons taught by intent, accident and happenstance.

Mrs. Sellers is preceded in death by her sister, Ellen Childs, three brothers, Fred Hodges, Glen Hodges and Bruce Hodges.

Survivors include her husband, of 50 years, E.J. Sellers; two daughters, Ellen Dawson and Julia Elizabeth Buntin; two sons, TE Buntin III and John Alexander Sellers; eight grandchildren and a great-granddaughter; adorable nieces and nephews and two sisters-in-law,Votie Hodges and Sydney Hodges.

Southern Heritage Funeral Home & Crematory of Dothan was in charge of arrangements.
