Dixie N. Harrell

Dixie N. Harrell, 93, of Bainbridge, passed away Sunday, October 25, 2015 at Memorial Hospital.

The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, October 27, 2015 at Ivey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tommy Long officiating. A private interment will follow at Colquitt Cemetery with Mike Henry, Ken Henry, Tommy Nalls, Craig Nalls, Roger Nalls, and Jody Lane serving as active pallbearers.

The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. on Tuesday, October 27, 2015 at Ivey Funeral Home. Online visitors may sign the guest register at www.iveyfuneral.com.

Dixie was born January 11, 1922 in Colquitt,  the daughter of Emmett Nalls and Susie G. Nalls. Mrs. Harrell was married to Harry Hartwell Harrell. She graduated from Miller County High School and was a member of Colquitt First Baptist Church. Dixie lived most of her life in Miller County and was a homemaker.

Dixie loved gatherings; fellowship with her family and friends was a favorite pastime. She had a dry sense of humor, which resulted in many smiles and giggles. Dixie could often be found working in her yard.

Survivors include her son, Jerry Harrell and his wife, Rosemary, of Eldorendo, Ga.; her siblings, Collie Nalls of Texas and Inez Henry of Colquitt; two grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.

Dixie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her siblings, Perry Nalls, Lester Nalls, and Gladys Hayes; and her granddaughter, Stephanie Lynn Harrell.
