Mary Esther Griffin Stogner, 78, of Donalsonville, Ga., passed away Monday, October 12, 2015 at her residence.

The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, October 14, 2015 at Ivey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Glen Elmore officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service. Interment will follow at Calvary Assembly of God Cemetery with Anthony Henderson, Christopher Henderson, Brandon Henderson, Joseph Stogner, Jr., Michael Willford, and Mike Willford serving as active pallbearers.

Mrs. Stogner was born March 14, 1937 in Pansey, Alabama, the daughter of John Ed Griffin and Mary Elizabeth Elmore Griffin. She married Joseph Carl Stogner in January of 1994. Mary Esther lived most of her life in the Donalsonville Community and attended the Reynoldsville Church of God. She was a machine operator at Amoco Fabrics and Fibers for a number of years.

Mary Esther loved her family and enjoyed cooking for them. She had a heart for animals and made sure they were fed well too. In her spare time she would shop, especially at flea markets. She also enjoyed spending beautiful days at her favorite fishing hole.

Survivors include her husband, Joe Stogner of Donalsonville; her children Matilda Ann Henderson of Dothan, Ala.; Julie Renee Stogner of Brooksville, Fla.; Cynthia Ann Stogner of Brooksville; Joseph Stogner, Jr. of New Port Richey, Fla.; April Lynn Stogner of Columbus, Ga.; her brother, David Griffin of Inverness, Fla.; 11 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.

Mary Esther was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Ima Jean Braswell; and her brothers, Thomas Griffin and J.R. Griffin.
