Public Safety investigates stabbing after man ‘attacked’ at party

Bainbridge Public Safety is investigating a stabbing that occurred over the weekend at a party at the Legion in Bainbridge.

Early Sunday at 1:40 a.m., officers responded to the Bainbridge Memorial Hospital emergency room parking lot in reference to a crowd gathering after the incident that left a Bainbridge man injured with “severe lacerations,” according to the incident report.

The victim told Public Safety Officers Jason Barlow and Toby Miller that he was talking to a group of people when he was suddenly struck in the face and attacked and that “multiple persons began fighting with him,” according to the report.

A witness to the incident reported he found the victim laying on the ground bleeding and drove him to the hospital.

PSO Miller observed several minor abrasions and lacerations to the victim’s stomach and back and also a “long, deep, severe laceration” on the victim’s lower back.

“The laceration appeared to have been made by a smooth, sharp instrument, such as a box cutter,” according to the incident report.
