Friends and fans of artist Lyn Morales are being urged to help her Kickstarter project.

Lyn was featured in the Fall Bainbridge Living magazine in recognition of her many prize winning hand-sewn and quilted items. The article also addressed the fact that Lyn was born without one hand, and calls herself “limb different.” But the focus of the article was about a book she and her sister have written to help children understand and appreciate those who are “different.”

The heroine of her book is named Joanie and she too is “limb different.”

Lyn also makes art dolls and she won first place this year in the art guild’s spring show with one of them.

She has designed a doll named Joanie, just like the girl in the book, to be sold along with the book. She and her sister need help in raising enough funds to get started.

They have laid out their plans and expense needs at https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/2066969809/joanie-teaches-tots?ref=nav. As of May 11 they have raised $846 in pledges and had 28 days to go toward their goal of $6,000. If they meet their goal in the time limit, they will receive the $6,000. If not, then they will not receive any money and those who pledged will not be charged.
