Bearcat wrestlers celebrate memorable season at banquet

The  Bainbridge High School varsity and Bainbridge Middle School Bearcats wrestling teams were honored Thursday night.

Most outstanding varsity wrestler award went to Tyler Storey. The varsity scholar award went to Josh Williams. The varsity most improved award went to Tanner Brown. Hayden Guy received the varsity spirit award and Tristan Manley received the varsity rising star award.

Ryan Adams received the varsity coaches award. Ashton Cato, Grayson Heard, Hayden Guy, Jermain MkcRae and Josh Williams all received strong competitor awards.

Randy Fillingame received the middle sschool coaches award. Bearcats varsity wrestling team members presented Bearcats varsity wrestling coach Smith with a large framed picture of the team.

“This is great,” coach Smith said in accepting the picture. “You guys really did a lotof great things this season sand I am very proud of you. You set high goals every match, worked hard, and achieved them. You have set a strong foundation for the wrestlers that will follow you.”

Middle school wrestling coach Blake Cecil said he was very proud of his team for reaching numerous goals as well.

“I enjoyed working with our young wrestlers and I looking forward for their continues inprovement at the varsity level,” he said.
