The Bainbridge High School Bearcats soccer team dropped a 3-0 Region 1-AAAA decision to the Worth County High School Rams Friday at Centennial Field.
In the 15th minute of the match the Rams sent a corner kick into the Bearcats penalty area that deflected off an attacker and landed in the path of a Rams forward who split the defense with a shot into the goal from six yards out.

“The Rams increased their advantage to 2-0 in the in the forty sixth minute on a breakaway shot that was converted at the top of the Bearcats penalty area,” coach Chip Ariail said. “A long lofted pass by the Rams goal keeper was misplayed by one of our defenders and it created a breakaway situation for the Rams.”

Seeing the opportunity, a Ram forward was able to touch the ball and run through splitting the Bearcat defense. Seeing that help was needed, goalkeeper Bryce Williams sprinted to the top of his penalty area to apply pressure to the Worth County attacker, but the ball was touched at an angle just out of his reach and the momentum carried the ball across and into the goal.

The Rams out shot the Bearcats 17-9 and had five shots on goal compared to the Bearcats three.
