Bainbridge cross-country rounds out season at state

The Bainbridge High School Bearcats and Lady Cats cross-country teams, who competed in several arduous meets with a high level of competition and brought home many trophies and individual medals, and qualified for the state championship where they performed well last Saturday in Carrollton.

The Bearcats placed 24th in a 32 team boys field and the Lady Cats finished 26th in a 32 team girls field.

Bearcat times were Brenden Greene’s 19:00, Bennett Enfinger’s 19:11, Wright Cook’s 19:46, Grayson Graham’s 19:53, Perry Waddell’s 20:32, Taylor Colon’s 20:50 and David Brock’s 21:15.

Lady Cat times were Uriyah Davis’s 23:57, Maddison Wiggins’s 25:23, Camry Fillingame’s 25:47, Aileen Mejia’s 26:35, Aida Diaz’s 26:57, Skye Walden’s 27:19 and Caitlin Shephard’s 27:50.

“I am so proud of our Bearcat and Lady Cat runners,” Greene said. “They have practiced hard all year and battled through aches, pains and injuries.”
