Marian G. Perry, 83, of Donalsonville, GA, passed away Sunday, October 26, 2014 at Pinewood Nursing Center.

The funeral service was held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, October 28, 2014 at Ivey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jimmy Dean officiating and will conclude in the chapel. Interment will be at Spring Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. The family received friends immediately following the service in the chapel. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, P.O. Box 96011, Washington, DC 20090-6011.

Mrs. Perry was born April 20, 1931 in Spartanburg, S.C., the daughter of the late James Cherry and Ruth Gaul Cherry. She was a clerk at Grimsley Pharmacy for over 50 years. Marian enjoyed gardening and working in her yard. She also looked forward to Sundays spent at Spring Creek Baptist Church where she taught the third grade Sunday school class.

Survivors include her daughter, Lisa Hammock and her husband, Stanley of Donalsonville, Ga.; her granddaughter, Dana Mullis Gribbins and her husband, Kevin; her great-granddaughter, Sadie Gribbins; and her siblings, Donald Wayne Fowler and his wife, Elaine, of Gaffney, S.C., John David Fowler of Gaffney, Anne Fowler Hale of Gaffney, and Nell Pitts of Panama City, Fla.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Grady L. Perry.

Ivey Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
