Shari Boyd Griffin, 52, passed away Monday, June 23, 2014 in Jacksonville, Florida.

The funeral service was held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, June 26, 2014 at Ivey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Paul Medley officiating and concluded in the chapel. Interment was at Bethany Baptist Church Cemetery with Mickey Clenney, LaDon Wells, Cole Hyatt, Parker Boyd, Jeff Moran, Luke Lyons, Shaun Dean, Chris Dean, Ken West, and Paul Midler, serving as active pallbearers. The family received friends immediately following the service.

Memorial donations may be made to Bethany Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 216 Bethany Church Road, Brinson, Georgia 39825.

Shari was born Feb. 2, 1962 in Bainbridge, the daughter of John Lee Boyd and Julia Matthews Boyd. She was a graduate of Bainbridge High School, Class of 1980 and attended Bainbridge State College. Shari was a homemaker, a member of First Baptist Church, and recently worked for Boyd’s BBQ and Grill and the Salvation Army.

Survivors include her husband of 20 years, Daryl Griffin of Bainbridge; her children, Preston Griffin of Bainbridge, McKay Griffin of Bainbridge, and Carry Griffin of Grand Ridge, Florida; her brother, Russell Boyd and his wife, Christie, of Bainbridge; her mother, Julia Matthews Boyd of Bainbridge; and her grandchildren, Lexi Cutchin, Noah Cutchin, and Greyson Griffin.

She was preceded in death by her father, John Boyd.

Ivey Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
