A Donalsonville man was found guilty Tuesday by a Decatur County jury for the murder of his 2-month-old daughter.

Prosecutors said Deonte Smith, 22, beat Keymaya Smith to death in April 2012.

“He killed her by shaking the baby,” Georgia Bureau of Investigation Agent Turner said.

Bainbridge Public Safety requested additional help from GBI during the investigation.

Smith has not been assigned a sentencing date.
