Jessica Beers of Bainbridge became the bride of J. Arik Leach of Anderson, Ind. on April 27, 2013, in an evening ceremony held at the Hyatt Regency in Clearwater, Fla.
The bride is the daughter of John and Joan Beers of Bainbridge and the granddaughter of Mary Ellen Stagner, the late A. Lynn Stagner; and of Alice Beers and the late Robert Beers.
The new Mrs. Leach is a graduate of Florida State University where she received a Bachelor of Science in Business.
The groom is the son of Jim and Paula Leach of Indiana, the grandson of Louise Leach and the late Harry Leach, and of the late Billie Wisner and Paul Songer.
He graduated from Ball State University with a Bachelor of Science in History.
The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a soft white, charmeuse gown with a ruched, sweetheart bodice. The gown featured a flattering side drape with a pick-up skirt, which added drama and dimension, and a sweep train. A detailed appliqué at the waist was highlighted with a cornflower blue, satin sash. The look was completed with an elbow length veil, embellished with pearls, beads, and sequins.
The bride carried a hand-tied bouquet of white and green hydrangea with white roses, spray roses, white mini calla lilies and clusters of blue delphinium throughout. The stems were wrapped in white satin ribbon to match the dress. The satin ribbon was adorned with a tie-tack, bearing the initial A, which belonged to the bride’s late great-grandfather Amos Stagner. The bride also wore a ring that had belonged to the groom’s grandmother Louise Leach.
The bride’s mother wore a coordinating satin, cornflower blue one shoulder dress that featured an elegant bow at the shoulder and a ruched empire waist. The groom’s mother wore a complimentary blue floral print dress.
The ceremony took place at sunset on the Caladesi Terrace, a private balcony overlooking the beach at the Hyatt Regency Hotel at Clearwater Beach. Columns draped in white sheer fabric, enhanced with ferns, formed a backdrop for the intimate ceremony.
Following the wedding, the bride’s parents hosted a dinner in a private dining room at the hotel.
The groom is currently stationed in Afghanistan. The couple will honeymoon in Europe in October during the groom’s leave.
A reception to include family and friends is planned upon his return to the states.
